Growing up in Ooltewah, I attended Ooltewah Baptist Church and Ooltewah Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. My construction experience begins at an early age assisting my parents in maintaining rental propery and working various construction jobs for a neighbor who is a local contractor. After graduating from UTC with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, I worked in the Engineering profession for seven years until being offered a Project Manager position in a local construction company. During the next five years I managed the construction of many apartment buildings and single family homes where quality was highly scrutinized.
My experience with construction and Engineering qualified me for my General Contractor license with the "BC" classification that certifies me to contract Residential, Commercial, and Industrial projects. Compare my qualifications with my competitors and note the differences. A licensed General Contractor must prove much higher qualifications than someone with a "Home Improvement" license.
Engineering skills puts Barry Builders a step up from other Design-Build firms. Besides knowing building conventions, materials, and codes, I understand them and why buildings are constructed the way they are. In fact, I have designed many buildings and structures and produced plans for them to streamline the construction process. I can do the same for you.
